We've have been here for over one hundred years.
Who We Are
-
In the early 1900’s Michael Noone (Uncle of Ellen Glynn) emigrated to the USA. He returned from the USA in 1913, and purchased McDonnells of Milltown, the business where he served his apprenticeship prior to emigrating. The Glynn Family connection with the Milltown Business goes back to September 1913 (over 100 years).

We recently joined an Agri Buying group called Associated Trading Co-operatives (ATC). It has two brands with about 40 of the smaller co-op stores and with over 20 independent stores like ourselves.
Our Culture
-
Culture in general is about how we communicate, what we prioritize, and what the reward is. Our Company culture is about integration, managing relationships, and coordinating group efforts. We do not look at wins and successes as individual achievements but rather through the lens of the group. We prioritize innovation, openness, diversity, and take a long-term view of the business and our jobs.
-
We are fair to our customers. We treat people with the fairness we would expect ourselves but will not let personal relationships come before the interests of the company and its employees. Being fair is not as easy as it sounds. It requires listening, understanding, good judgement and a fair amount of creativity. We need to be able to live, at ease in the community from which we make our living.
-
We encourage employees to grow, have the opportunity to take on new projects, experiment with new products and take on additional roles, as time permits. We are respectful both to our colleagues and our customers. A positive work environment where employees treat one another and our customers with respect generally encourages work satisfaction and a lack of mental stress.
-
Our Culture defines what is encouraged, discouraged, accepted, or rejected within the Company. We are competitive, flexible, and progressive and will try new things in the interests of the Company and our Customers. We sometimes fail but we are always proud of the Glynn brand.
-
We are honest and never cheat customers. We do not give our word lightly but when we do, we honour it. We do not leave tasks undone. We are an “open communication” company, employees are encouraged to share their ideas and opinions with the knowledge that their team members will remain open-minded and courteous without bias or prejudice within the business.
-
We take pride in the products we stock but we do not oversell. If an item is cheap and cheerful, we say so. If an item is supposed to be top grade, we stand over it. We are discreet and take the privacy of our staff and customers seriously.
